Sorry Guys! Got a little busy with the family thing for the last couple of days and probably will be until Saturday. But yes! WE CAN DO WHATEVER WE WANT TO THE GAME< IF AND WHEN WE TRANSLATE THE BIN HEX VALUES!
Bluegazrs tool should allow ANYONE to see the bin hex values of ANY of the EXE commands (WHICH IS WHERE ALL THE MODING FOR VO WAS DONE FROM MY VIEW OF THE FILES, JUST MAKE SURE THAT THE .DAC FILES FOR VOXP ARE PRESENT IN THE SAME FILE AS THE VOXP .EXE FILE, NOT REALLY SURE WHAT THE ERRAND.EXE FILE IS FOR OR THE MANIFEST.EXE file is for as I have removed both and ran the game successfully.)
Bin hex is the basic language of ANY program short of binary language. SO YES! IF WE CAN MOD THE BIN HEX WE CAN MOD ANYTHING WITH THE GAME!
SO, WHILE I AM WORKING ON THE TRANSLATION IF ANYONE WANTS TO READ MY POSTS AND HELP OUT USING THE BIN HEX TOOL POSTED BY BLUEGAZR, GREAT! Last time it took two english guys and one native to translate a few menus and I have no idea how long that took. So far ALL of the skins have worked, SO I am guessing that perhaps ANY skin would work?!!! Has anyone besides Razor been over to the U.E.G. website? They have a pretty killer looking ORIGINAL ZOR SDF1 for their movie that looks more like the SDF3 to me. Perhaps they might be willing to give us a skin or something for our little game?
I am sure they won't mind it being a freeware movie project and all? Who knows maybe we could help them develop a game for their little project by modding VOXP as the movie is a remake of the ORIGINAL ROBOTECH Macross saga.
Keep me updated and I will let you know when I get back to work.
Thanks guys! Keep up the work and we will make this game our own in no time! |

Razor, Torime can help us with game translation? I´ll ask him via email, if he want.
P.D: here is the torime mail: torime@kcb-net.ne.jp just in case if i can´t contact them. |

Bofrazz here, A.K.A. Gabe Brooks. Greetings Shadowdeamon. I love your efforts so far with trying to crack the translation issues. I figured the difference between the Japanese coding styles and U.S. ones would be the barrier in this situation. While my coding skills are admirable for a videogame artist they are vastly perforated to those of a true coder. You're just what's needed here. That being said I'd like to offer any help I can. As you know I've drawn over 80 skins and created the Armored Veritech model for the new RobotechVOXP mod.
Has any one else made any new content for this since? I ask because I had a hell of a time importing the model in a way that would work. Basically I wound up taking the model I finished in my 3D software and exported it in modern DirectX format. The game used an older version of DirectX and my new content wasn't fully compatible. I wound up rewriting/shuffling the code manually to fit the format used by the game. I couldn't possibly imagine doing that to a model that used animations as well. You've seen my ability to create new content, I'm just looking for a better way to get it in there. As for all those models on those other sites, I'd be suprised if those models would work right off the bat as they are. If they do, then perhaps all they need are some Brookstech skins.
I dunno man, After working so hard to create the RobotechVOXP Mod I find it rewarding that some one else would take such interest and inspiration from it as to want to contribute. So let's do it. Let's carve out the best damn experiences from this game we can. BlueGazer has the right idea too. Collaboration can only serve us here so keep us poseted!

Hello, anyone knows that has happened to this topic? For some time, we do not know anything about shadowdemon. I would like to continue with this to translate the game. In Macross international forum, we are making good progress with 3d models. Shadowdemon we will be glad to participate with us. One of our users succeeded in creating a model 3d, keeping animations at all times, knowing part of the C + + language. It is possible that by using this, we can translate the game. |

hi guys. i'm just registered in this website. im from argentina and my english needs some patient from you . but im here to help in any way i can. DONT GIVE UP!! WE WILL WIN !!!.
SHADOW i think we should get someone who actually speaks japanise. im not really sure but i thing i can get someone. problem is they dont have many time AND they dont speak english, only spanish. we all know that translation software is not the best choice and that someone who can read that is better. so, i could get a computer working with xp in japanise and get this ppl in here to work with any file that is wrote in that languish. i dont know what else i can do. im down for any beta test you want to do. i have hamachi but never played voxp online. iv tried to replace the songs and only get half of them working (robotech theme mostly). i have a full version of sound forge and i can send it to you. well, my mail is Tobias-Ripper@hotmail.com, add me or send me an e-mail and lets get this game working and being the best robotech game ever made.!!!!!!

Greetings!
I figured I'd poke my head in here and say hi!
I am one of the three people who worked on the original Macross VO translation project.
Recently I was inspired to try translating VOXP again so here I am with news!
I have unpacked the MCR.exe file and have translated the Control Settings screen. Due to coding issues that are beyond my abilities, some words have been replaced with short abbreviations just like the original VO translation.
Expect a release soon.
Cracking VOXP's MCR.exe compression scheme was a hurdle I was unable to surpass so many years ago. Now through the wonders of my 1337 hacker skills and Google, MCR.exe is uncompressed and ready to be translated.
My current HexEditor is CrystalTile2. While it is originally meant for GBA/DS rom editing, it works well displaying Japanese characters.
Oh yeah, this will be a translation of Macross VOXP, not the Robotech TC. Although, there may be possibilities of working in the translated menus to the Robotech TC. |
